Leading Change
6th Grade PLC Meeting
By leading the 6th grade PLC meetings, we work on identifying specific strategies to improve school achievement in reading and math as stated in the school improvement plan. Discussions revolve around current data, trends and strategies for improvement. Results from implemented strategies are discussed and changes are made as necessary. Attached is an example of PLC minutes from one team meeting. |
School Improvement Plan
School Improvement Team
Throughout my internship I was able to participate in the school improvement team meetings. During the meetings we discussed various school initiatives that would increase student achievement and lead us toward postive change. My duties included participating in team discussions, monitoring and implementing action steps, and communicating important updates to the 6th grade team members. Attached you can find a Brain Dump activity that the team completed while planning for next year's restart status. |
Distributive Leadership
Problem of Practice
The problem of practice that I completed for my internship encorporated the learning and implementation of the MTSS process for our 6th grade team teachers. Throughout the project I provided professional development and support in the area of interventions, data collection and review. As the year progressed I decreased my direct involvement in the process and allowed the team members to lead coversations. I was then able to act as a monitor and provide feedback on the team's ability to run the MTSS process independently. |
